(Yes, I finally got round to uploading a Season Fnarg userpic!)
Interesting.
I wasn't sure about this, since I find Corden And The Other One deeply unfunny and annoying. But it turns out, given the opportunity to actually act, he's pretty good. He definitely sold me on Craig quite quickly.
The Doctor trying to act "normal" was as funny as you'd expect, and the football scene was a good excuse to showcase Matt's skills.
I'm assuming the pseudo-TARDIS is going to tie into the finale, because it seems like an odd thing to throw out there without further explanation. Who was trying to build a TARDIS? Why? And does it have anything to do with The Crack?
The end seemed a bit of a Broken Aesop to be honest, or possible a lost one; the Doctor has helped Sophie realise she can do anything she wants and isn't tied to this nowhere town, and the climax hinges on her deciding that actually she does want to stay there after all. (Yeah, yeah, power of love, whatever; it still manifests as a desire to stay on Craig's couch watching telly for the rest of her life.)
Interesting that there was no Doctor-Lite episode this season, but this was an Amy-Lite one. And Eleven is going to be in Sarah Jane as well. Does Matt Smith not need sleep or something?

Date: 2010-06-18 08:46 pm (UTC)Well...yes and no. He showed her she could go anywhere so that he could ask her why she didn't. She didn't really want to go, because Craig was staying - and Craig didn't really need to stay, he just thought he did because that's where she was.
