I thought the aesop wasn't that Sophie was going to stay with whasisname, but that he realised that home was where-ever Sophie was and he didn't need to travel because she was there. And it wouldn't matter where "there" was. As long as she was with him, he was home.
And yeah, who built the other TARDIS? Taking bets on who is inside the pandorica, I'm putting my money on an Alt-OneDoc, given how often we've seen a picture of Hartnell this season.
