Does anyone know why there were so many steampunk outfits at the Gala Dinner (or, rather, at the Rat Racing, since I didn't go to the Gala Dinner)?

I didn't notice a Guild of Fans and Disciples stall in Sator Square - are they still going? (I'm a very lapsed member who intended to rejoin). I've tried Googling, but their last known website was a Geocities site ... which itself isn't a good sign. If not, does anyone know where I can get an "A Dragon Is For Life" window sticker?

Amusing moment of the Con: passing a group of men from one of the Indian weddings taking place in the other wing of the hotel, and hearing them plot how they were going to meet Terry Pratchett - you can find unexpected Discworld fans everywhere, even in places you already expected to be full of them.

It said on the Gala Dinner invitation that steampunk outfits would be suitable considering the ingenuity of the dwarves. (Recommended dress was, IIRC: Costume, Formal or Guild Robes). Have no idea what Guild Robes are (though Gideon's Monk of Cool outfit would be suitable, I guess), but it said that steampunk outfits would be acceptable as "Costume".

Ah, that explains it. Since the dinner sold out while we were still dithering about whether to go or not, we never saw the invitations.

I particularly liked the guy who was wearing a stovepipe hat. By which, of course, I mean a brass top hat with a stovepipe sticking out of it.
