That was fun! It's nearly a week later and I'm still exhausted.

Once again I missed half the things I wanted to see, didn't speak to Pterry[1], and barely found any afpers. But once again I was too busy to realise I was missing out on these things until afterwards. Next time I'll try and hang around in the bar more 8-).

This was partly because I entered the Maskerade for the first time since 1998 and, much to my surprise, won the Novice category. It was fun, and a huge honour, but I'm not sure I'll do it next year. Partly because I want to *see* the Maskerade, and partly because, having won something with a startlingly original and humorous idea, I now feel obliged to come up with an even *more* original and humorous idea, and I'm not sure I can.

Besides that, I got to hear Stephen Briggs talk about the updated Mapp, The Mob talk about Going Postal (they've changed the ending, but Pterry's approved it) and Pterry talking about... well, all sorts of things (including a reading from Nation.)

Two years till the next one...

[1] Not strictly true, I said "'nks" when he handed me my prize.

I saw you a couple of times (mostly on stage ;) but everytime I thought - there's Daibhid ... I must go and say "hello" I got distracted elsewhere!

At least I have a mental picture of what you REALLY look like when you're posting now :-))
