Smallville - Absolute Justice - Part II
Aug. 14th, 2010 04:02 pmAwesomely awesome.
Lots of nice comic book touches: the Hawkman/GA fued continued to be a delight, and the concept of them splitting into pairs, one from each team, has its origin in classic JLA/JSA teamups, often with the characters' logos at the start of each segment.
I laughed out loud at the JSA computer. It's even funnier if you reflect that, in the comics, both the JSA Brownstone and more recently the JSA All-Stars Ranch were home to artificial intelligences. I can't see The Thinker hiding his personality engrams in a stack of punchcards, somehow.
J'onn's back! And he gets his powers back and everything!
And I was right; Icicle's working for Checkmate. Specifically, for Amanda Waller, who turns out to have wanted the Society to get back together, which seemed a bit of a Batman Gambit. I did not see Mercy-as-Checkmate-agent coming, but it kind of fits, especially since her Injustice League was basically the Suicide Squad. And sure enough, Amanda's also putting together a Suicide Squad, to be prepared for the coming apocalypse.
Or did she say "the coming Apokolips"?
