In the new DWM, The Moff talks about the finale and says "my ambition was for it to be a direct sequel to every story in the preceding series. To be honest, I got close. It's not a direct sequel to Episode 7! Next time, next time..."

Episode 7 was "Amy's Choice". Which kind of hedgehogs up my theory that the TARDIS-controlling, Silence-falling Big Bad is the Dream Lord, really.

Unless, of course, he's lying...
