Well, I've done my bit for democracy.

Amusing note: All the candidates had their address after their name on the ballot paper. The exceptions were the candidates for the Scottish Christian Party, UKIP and the Scottish Tories, who all had "address in the Inverness, Nairn Badenoch and Strathspey constituency".

Apparently, right-wing politicians in Scotland know better than to tell the electorate where they live...

In my constituency, the incumbent Conservative MP and the Green Party had "address in [this] constituency". The BNP candidate had "address in [other] constituency".

If they don't have their primary address in the constituency they are standing for, they shouldn't be allowed to stand in that constituency.

I think it depends. For instance, five years ago, we had the constituencies "Inverness East, Nairn and Lochaber" and "Ross, Skye and Inverness West". Now, it seems to me that someone who lives in Inverness West, but is familiar with the Nairn and Lochaber areas, makes a better IEN&L candidate than someone who lives in Inverness East, and has never travelled further than Culloden in their life.

Mind you, our Labour candidate listed an address in Edinburgh. But everyone knows he's an Invernesian born-and-bred; the Courier was reminiscing about him being an Inverness Royal Academy sixth-form rebel, heckling the Labour candidate we had at the time...
