You are The Hermit

Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.

The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.

The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.

The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.

I ended up as the Magician, which is appropriate seeing as I've been hanging out on www.talkmagic.co.uk lately, and have even started a new blog about magic (http://invisiblehoard.wordpress.com/). However, my result was by no means inevitable, because I ticked several boxes thinking, "Meh, that'll do" rather than "Definitely!". Hermit would definitely be high on my list.

The benefit of being predictable is, I guess, that you know who you are. Not many people can say that. There's usually a few results on quizes like this that sort of fits, without a clear-cut winner. I've done quizes where there has been very little between the top three or four results, all at around 60% fit, and if I redo it I get a different result. It seems to me that you rarely have this self-image confusion, which is enviable.

As for stereotype, well, that's always a very broad brush. In D&D games, some people tend to go for the outrageously eccentric, like a half-orc half-elf wizard barbarian or something, but good gamers can take a stereotypical character, like a human fighter, and make it a real character. If you look at Pirates of the Carribean, all the three main characters - Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann - are swashbucklers, but they're all very different.

So you know who you are, and while you fit some of the same stereotypical traits and features of the reclusive geek as Comic Book Guy in Simpsons, you are a very different character. Any stereotype is a very broad category, with a near infinite scope for variation within the limits of it, and you can overstep the limits, too, because you know where they are.

The important thing is that you know both who you are and where you are, and from there you can go anywhere you want.
