Well ... that didn't really tell us much we didn't already know, did it?

I was obviously completely wrong in speculating the Doctor had decided to face what was coming with a stiff-upper lip; he's still trying to dodge it, and maintining a flip attitude to pretend it's not really a problem. (Obviously, my theory that he would head straight from Adelaide's house to the Oodsphere failed to consider that he's going to spend the next few weeks in Area 51...)

Beyond that the revelations the Ood have given him are that he's going to die (yes, we know), and the Master's involved (yes, we know). Still, it succeeded in whetting my appetite, which is what it was intended to do.

Cool thought: It'd be a nice touch if, as the seance-thing progresses the Doctor got steadily more annoyed with the Oods' failure to provide straight answers, culminating with the traditional "What? What? WHAT??" being played for drama rather than comedy...

It whetted your appetite, did it? I think it killed mine stone-dead. And then when he started channelling Major Bloodnok... eurgh.

I think I missed that; do you mean there was a "What? What? WHAT??" bit in the clip?

(I should add that I got called through to see it, and immediately everyone started talking at once...)

No. He did the Caesar's Wife joke ("You know Caesar's wife is supposed to be above suspicion? Well, I've put an end to all that!"). Only the lady in question was Good Queen Bess. Breaking the laws of time is one thing, but bragging about his conquests, well!

Ah. Yes, I did miss that bit. Although it does perhaps explain what she was so annoyed about in "The Shakespeare Code"...

I think the post-"Waters" Time Lord Victorious Doctor is meant to be a jerk[1]; the plot of "End of Time" may well be that he has to reconnect with his essential Doctorishness before he can stop the Master.

(Now I wonder where he would find essential Doctorishness just lying about the place 8-)?)

And mea culpa on attributing "What what what?" to Bloodnok; I was tired, and coming down with a cold. I realised my mistake after I'd switched off the computer.

[1]Although so far he seems to be behaving normally in "Dreamland", which makes me wonder if that's actually set before "Waters of Mars".
