daibhidcThe Highland Libraries online catalogue now lists its copies of Unseen Academicals as "On shelf" rather than "On order".
Of course, "on shelf" doesn't actually mean they're on the shelves where anyone can pick them up, it means they're waiting for the people who ordered them to pick them up (or more likely, they're waiting for the library service to get round to informing people that they're waiting to be picked up). And while I'm on that list, I'm not near the front, so I've got a while to wait yet.
I will try to limit my obsessive tracking of the situation. Checking the catalogue three times today, when they're not even open, might be excessive...
Edit: Having said that, I've taken another look at the details. While a lot of people have reserved the book, as the librarian warned me, they're scattered over various copies being sent to various branches. It appears only one of these reservations is at Culloden Library.
I think I'll be spending tomorrow hovering over the phone...
Additional Edit: Ah. Now it's three reservations (but since I reserved it last month I must be the first one, right?) and "item is between locations". Which, if I recall correctly from my work experience at the Library Support Unit, means it's in a pigeonhole at LSU, and may be there for a while...
