So apparently, the Germanic tribes who colonised the middle of England had Scottish accents. Who knew? Although I did notice they inconsistently pronounced widderen as "vidderen".

Ah yes. The widderen. They've run out of actual mythic beasts, so we get the Naked Mole Rats Of Unusual Size instead. I'm sure the kids watching were suitably scared (must check with my neice), if only by the sheer oddness factor. A naked mole rat looks like a monstrous beast, especially when it's the size of a man.

Anyway, naked mole rats and characters vaguely based on figures from Monmouth aren't what this episode's about. Having established the Arthur/Gwen pairing, it's time to bring back Lancelot. Lancelot's role as a moody pit-fighter who's abandoned his beliefs, then regains them and is determined to die in defence of Gwen, then retains them but decides he'd rather nobly step aside for the sake of a relationship both Arthur and Gwen think is doomed anyway than stay with her and be happy, strongly reminded me of scarfman's Lancelot, who's bipolar. I don't know if this was how he was meant to come across.
