Goodness, haven't I done this yet? Okay then...

Let's start with my sister's first comment which was "I didn't know the BBC or Disney+ were involved in making Bridgerton, but they seem to be putting a lot of effort into plugging it." Ruby comparing it to the present day's landmark period drama makes sense once. Maybe twice. Saying "That's so Bridgerton!" every time anything happens, could we not? Apart from anything else, non-Bridgerton watchers like ourselves get distracted thinking "Is that a specific reference I'm not getting, or just generic costume drama stuff?" (I did know the "Regency pop song" thing was a Bridgerton reference for some reason, but she didn't.)

(It occured to me later that there's a parallel to be drawn between Ruby comparing everything that happens to a fictional drama series, and the Chuldur treating human lives like cosplay. But nobody actually makes that parallel or does anything with it, so whatever.)

Not sure what I make of Rogue yet. The thinking seems to be:
1. We need someone for the first (as far as we know) gay male Doctor  to flirt with.
2. You know who would be good for that? Captain Jack!
3. Obviously, we can't have Captain Jack.
4. What if we created an Almost Captain Jack? And Jack did most of his brooding in Torchwood, so maybe if we emphasise that it'll be less obvious.
5. That's it.

Maybe there'll be more to him next season. (He is obviously going to return next season.) I did like the reveal that he got his silly name from D&D.

The Chuldur's bird-person forms were striking. But very convenient for the plot that exactly one of them is actually any good at staying in character.

There was one line where you can really tell Ncuti grew up in Scotland, but I can't remember what it was.

No snow. I was half-expecting it when Ruby was convincing the Doctor she was really her, because that would have been pretty convincing.

guess there's an explanation involving momentum or mavity or something as to why they couldn't just pull Ruby out of the trap, but I think we could have done with hearing it, because it felt a bit Contrived Peril as is.

(Oh, and darn my face-blindness; totally missed that Richard E. Grant Doctor is apparently canon now until I read it online!)
