So the Storytime of Legend is still not anywhere even remotely close to being done, but I wrote the epilogue way back when I first had the idea, and it seemed like I should post it somewhere now.
Epilogue
“You couldn’t do it more often?” Izzy asked, “It’s such a nice change to have someone who knows how to read a children’s book properly, instead of using unsuitable material, or trying to force weird casting choices.”

“You couldn’t do it more often?” Izzy asked, “It’s such a nice change to have someone who knows how to read a children’s book properly, instead of using unsuitable material, or trying to force weird casting choices.”
Barbara shook her head “Sorry, I can’t do it regularly; as one the few H.G. Wells staff members with actual teaching qualifications, I’ve got quite enough on my plate. “
“At least you have qualifications. I keep asking the authors to write a Joyce Grenfell crossover so we can get a proper nursery teacher, but no luck.”
Barbara looked thoughtful. “I might know someone who can help though.”
The next day Wilf Noble arrived at the crèche with a handful of paperbacks. “Where do you want me to start?” he asked, “I’ve got Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Arabel’s Raven, and The Wombles.”
Izzy smiled. Maybe everything didn’t have to lead to disaster after all.
