Stuff I've watched lately

Saw Black Widow yesterday. I went to the cinema, which I felt comfortable doing becuase everyone was distanced and I had my mask (which helped the popcorn last longer as well, because it was such a fash). Even with snacks, I think it came out as cheaper than Disney+ Premium, or whatever the upgrade's called.
It was very good. A clever choice to set it during Civil War, and an interesting reimagining of Yelana and Red Guardian (I loved his insistence that he fought Captain America, despite the fact that's impossible in this continuity). And the fact the stinger doesn't tie into the next movie but Hawkeye really highlights how intergated the TV and movie sides of the MCU are now. (If only they'd done that sooner, rather than leaving Agents of SHIELD to scramble on the sidelines, until the point where they just had to shrug and say "We don't know what to do with the Snap, so that didn't happen to us.")
I also saw the first ten minutes of The Watch. Moving swiftly on...
I finally got round to giving Star Trek: Lower Decks a go. I'm still not sure the style of humour is entirely to my taste, or entirely a good fit with something that's meant to be Actual Star Trek, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't quite the ironic, cynical take I'd been expecting; in fact, less so than the first season of Discovery. And I've watched six episodes, so obviously I like it more than I did The Watch.
