Okay, apparently if I don't do these straight away, I just don't do them...

(I blame the new timeslot. It used to be I could spend the rest of Saturday night thinking about it, then get this done over Sunday. Now I've got work in the morning...)

Anyway, that was pretty intense. I liked the twist that the Doctor knows the aliens are baddies, but turns out to be wrong. As soon as we learned that, I had a sort of feeling where it was going -- and yes, it's another Humans Are The Real Monsters story, but there's nothing wrong with that. I don't know that much about the period, but it's certainly got me interested in learning more.

The regulars continue to be good. It's become apparent between this and Arachnids that one of Yaz's things is she's The One With The Family, while after Grace's death Graham and Ryan just have each other (until the Chekhov's Gun labelled "Ryan's Dad" gets fired). And I loved the Doctor building a Big Complicated Thing Out of Stuff, which I don't think we've seen since "The Lodger".

And the Doctor's wedding speech was wonderful, although I did think using the sonic to untie a rope seemed a bit ... unnecessary?

One thing, there's been a definite trend of the Doctor not actually stopping the villains more than temporarily, which continues here, where she doesn't stop them at all -- yes it's a Fixed Point, but as part of the trend... I had a theory for a while that maybe there was going to be a  Legion of Doom in the finale, but they're so varied I have a hard time seeing how that would work (yes, Donald Trump Stand-In could well be a mediator between Slimy Rich Guy and Racist Time Traveller, but apart from that...)
