Memed from
lost_spook: Write a list of 12 characters from any fandom. Then answer the questions under the cut. (Don't look at the questions before you make your list!)
1. Captain Angua von Uberwald (Discworld)
2. Clara Oswald (Doctor Who)
3. Hank McCoy/Beast (X-Men)
4. Captain Jack Harkness (Doctor Who)
5. Solomon Cohen (Dodger)
6. Inspector Nightingale (Rivers of London)
7. Susan Sto Helit (Discworld)
8. Kadiatu Lethbridge-Stuart (Doctor Who: The New Adventures)
9. Father Jack Hackett (Father Ted)
10.Arnold J Rimmer (Red Dwarf)
11.Ted Kord/Blue Beetle (Justice League International)
12.Lu Tze (Discworld)
8 [Kadiatu] and 4 [Captain Jack] get stuck in a lift. What happens?
Almost certainly not what Jack hoped would happen.
Randomise a song by your preferred means (shuffle your iPod/MP3 player/iTunes/the internet). Pick out the line(s) that best fits 2 [Clara].

...what?
What would be your plot device of choice for a fic involving 11 [Ted Kord] and 6 [Inspector Nightingale]?
Ted is on a Kord Industries business trip to London. While there, he sends out feelers as to whether anyone in the city might know how to fix a broken magic scarab, and also fights some crime in costume. This causes chaos in the magical community, especially the extra-legal parts, and inevitably, Nightingale gets called in to sort out the resultant mess.
Rec a fanwork about 12 [Lu Tze].
Proof I didn't cheat on this, not even a little bit; if I did there'd be someone here I could think of any fanworks with. Um ... oh, wait there was that "Vimes-meets-Suffer-Not-Injustice" one ... I think Lu Tze's barely in it, but it's good ... Let's see ...
[frantic googling]
Hmm. Maybe I imagined it.
Where would 9 [Father Jack] take 5 [Solomon Cohen] on a date?
The pub. Whether Solomon wanted to go to the pub (he probably wouldn't) would be of no interest to him whatsoever.
2 [Clara] and 4 [Captain Jack] are now buddy cops. Do they make a good team & is this bad or good news for nearby criminals?
They'd be an awesome team! Although Jack would be a bit annoyed by Clara's readiness to use him as a human shield.
"You get better, don't you?"
Make up a summary for an apocalyptic fic featuring 5 [Solomon Cohen] and 10 [Arnold J. Rimmer].
An eccentric steampunk scientist is building the Ultimate Weapon in Victorian London. Solomon Cohen, wise old watchmaker, is suspicious of some of the parts he's been asked to create. When he investigates further, he attracts the attention of a mysterious figure who claims he's been sent from the future to stop history being altered ... and seriously resents it.
If 3 [Hank McCoy] and 7 [Susan] were a couple, how would they meet and would it work out?
Dimensional gateway. He was looking at alternate universes to see how mutant relations were going, when he accidentally found a world totally unlike the Marvel Universe. She mistook it for an incursion by the Auditors and dived in. They bond over their shared intelligence and practicality, but eventually she has to go back.
1 [Angua], 10 [Rimmer], and 8 [Kadiatu] go on an epic road trip. Where are they going, who drives, and who gets left behind at the first stop?
They're going to find whatever combination of time travel and dimension travel has put all three of them in the same place, and reverse it. Kadiatu drives because Rimmer's a hologram and Angua's from a world where they've only just got steam trains. And Rimmer, of course, gets left behind at the first stop, if not sooner.
In a coffee shop type AU with 9 [Father Jack] and 4 [Captain Jack], what would their establishment be called?
Captain Jack really tried to resist going for something as obvious as A Pair of Jacks, but in the end he just couldn't. It was better than his partner's suggestion, anyway, which suggested an entirely different kind of establishment.
What would the title be for a romance novel/film featuring 7 [Susan] and 12 [Lu Tze]?
Engage the blatant cop-out:
Since it doesn't specify the romance is with each other, Thief of Time.
If forced to choose, would you rather have an evening out with 1 [Angua] or 11 [Ted Kord]?
Definitely Ted. I love Angua as a character, but she's a bit intense and scary, whereas Ted shares my sense of humour.
What's your favourite pairing (romantic or otherwise) for 3 [Hank McCoy]?
The obvious answer here (for a non-romantic pairing) is Wonder Man, but I wasn't reading Avengers in those days. Back when Cyclops wasn't completely insane, I really liked the way Hank's motormouth tendencies played off the Fearless Leader's stolidness.
Write a snippet from a 8 [Kadiatu], 9 [Father Jack] and 3 [Hank McCoy] pirate AU. ('Snippet' here meaning 'as brief as you like'.)
"Avast!" called Captain Lethbridge-Stuart of the good ship Ship, as she gazed through the telescope. "There be a prize vessel there, unless I'm mistaken. What think you, padre?"
The ship's priest gave the question due consideration before concluding "RUM!" After further thought he added "WENCHES!"
The captain sighed. "My own fault for asking. Look, there's a frigate out there, and I say we go and ... " She stopped, as her augmented vision made out the details of the other ship. "Change of plan. That's the Queen Anne's Revenge, I say we get out of here."
Unfortunately, the other vessel was now approaching them. Captain Lethbridge-Stuart braced for the impact of the cannons, but to her astonishment, a figure something like a Barbary ape leapt from that ship's rigging onto her deck.
"Ahoy, my good lady captain! As current commanding officer of the Queen Anne's Revenge I wish to assure you that we currently plan no excursions of pillage or freebooting, and on the contrary, would be happy to protect you from any such ruffians that might be in the area."
"Commanding officer?" exclaimed Lethbridge-Stuart, "You're not Blackbeard!"
"Indeed not," the strange figure admitted, "My crew have taken to calling me 'Captain Bluebeard'." He raised an eyebrow, "I have no idea why."
11 [Ted Kord], 1 [Angua], 12 [Lu Tze] and 5 [Solomon Cohen] are on a talent show. Who wins?
I'm trying to think of any suitable talents any of them might have. I suppose Lu Tze could do some sort of martial arts display. Angua would flatly refuse to do dog tricks. Ted and Solomon, no idea. So I guess Lu Tze wins.
Aliens try to make 2 [Clara], 6 [Nightingale] and 12 [Lu Tze] do it. Do they have any luck?
Nope. Nightingale would look dignified and affronted, Lu Tze would look confused and affronted, and Clara would look absolutely furious. Then the aliens would be hit by magic, deja fu, and whatever Clara could get her hands on.
What might 1 [Angua] say to compliment 5 [Solomon Cohen]?
"You know, I think thanks to your influence that kid isn't quite the worst young criminal I've ever seen."
What would 10 [Rimmer] hate most about 2 [Clara]? And what would 9 [Father Jack] love most about 10 [Rimmer]?
"She's cheerful, quick-thinking, usually right about things, stands up for what she believes in; what isn't there to hate about her?"
Jack likes Rimmer because he doesn't look quite as bad in comparison. Also a hologram has no reason to steal his whisky.
If you had to write a crossover involving 6 [Nightingale] and 4 [Captain Jack], how would it go and/or what would the crossover fandom be?
In their ongoing quest for power, Torchwood One managed to incur a whole load of debts from the magical forces of London, without giving much thought to what might happen if they ever came to collect. Now something has just come due, and if the creditor has to hunt down the survivors of the survivors of the successor organisation, then that's what they'll do. Nightingale will be something of a fish out of water; he's not too comfortable with magic interacting with modern technology, let alone alien superscience.
Go here to generate a random poem. The second line is now the title of a fic about 11 [Ted Kord] and 7 [Susan]. What's the plot? (Link: http://plagiarist.com/poetry/random/)
"Now Sunk in Rest"
Ted has just been shot in the head by Maxwell Lord. Guess who comes to claim him?
If 3 [Hank McCoy] and 9 [Father Jack] decided to get together and pull off a jewel heist, how would that go?
Better than you might think, since Hank's meticulous planning involves not giving Jack anything to do at all.
7 [Susan] has got to save the world from 8 [Kadiatu]. Is the world saved or doomed?
Saved, probably. Susan is very good at saving the world. Of course, Kadiatu is scarily competent herself, but once Susan knows her backstory she can probably be won round from threatening the world by talking.
