He took one look at the latest magical creature threatening the city and decided the truncheon wasn't going to cut it. And letting loose fireballs in a built-up area didn't seem like a good idea either.


8 and 1 go on a road trip, what is their first argument about?
Eddie Watts and Wally West

Eddie thought they were both going to see the sights for the first time, but it turns out Wally's already been. Wally's excuse is that it took ten seconds for Eddie's car to start.


7, 12, and 15 are attending a funfair, which one of them finds love and do the other two get scared in the ghost train?
Mycroft, Rimmer and Fitz

Fitz finds love, but it's tragic love because that's how the EDAs work. Mycroft travels the ghost train with a look of stoic indifference, occasionally giving disapproving looks to the gibbering hologram beside him.

Bunsen, Dodger and Nanny. Ficlet time:

"This rowing is a right pain in the hobo," said Nanny Ogg.

Bunsen brightened. "Here at Muppet Labs, we have been working on a new form of outboard motor based on the principles behind the space shuttle." He began rumaging in his bag, "It should clip neatly onto the side of the boat..."

Dodger glanced at the bank. He could probably leap that easily enough, and something told him now was the time to do it.

Nanny glared at him. "If this boat sinks, young man, it sinks with all of us."

As it turned out, it didn't sink. It took them a while to get down from the tree, though.


2 and 14 are recruited by one of the other characters to fight crime. Who's their mysterious boss, and do they manage to catch any malefactors?

They're recruited to the National Computer Crime Bureau by a shadowy figure, who it takes Lobsang 1.5 picoseconds to identify as Mycroft Holmes. And between the scarily efficient PA and the world's most powerful and intelligent supercomputer, the bad guys don't stand a chance.

3, 6, and 11 are spending a day out together. Which wants to take their vehicle for a spin, which wants to go clothes shopping, and which is looking forward to a good meal? And which of them, if any, gets what they want?
The War Doctor, the Superior Spider-Man and Queenie

The War Doctor wants to take the TARDIS, since he rarely has the opportunity to take it on fun excursions any more. The others veto this, because they want to end up in the right place.

Otto's looking forward to a good meal. As it turns out, he can't enjoy it properly due to the nagging voice of Parker complaining about the effect Doc Ock's diet is having on Spider-Man's body.

And Queenie wants to go clothes shopping. She does get what she wants, as always, although she's a little annoyed that the War Doctor keeps checking if she's a Zygon.

You don't invite a maverick engineer to tea with an incredibly advanced machine lifeform. It can lead to all sorts of embarrasment.

(In the spirit of the question, I'd add that if Dodger wasn't present either, they probably had a prior engagement with someone called Wilson.)

It turns out Scotty got the wrong end of the stick; quiet, mild-mannered Eddie might well be plotting world domination, but he's not the sort to actually do anything about it. The engineer, materialising in Nanny Ogg's kitchen, is baffled to learn that the "doomsday device" is a primitive, imp-powered audio recorder.

Audiophile Eddie wants it because it's a music format he's never experienced before. He and Scotty learn why the good people of Lancre considered it a doomsday device when the imp starts performing all 26 verses of the Hedgehog Song. In Nanny's voice.

1 and 2 are dating - why's 6 trying to ruin everything?

He would insist it's for the Greater Good. While the Superior Spider-Man may be capable of fighting crime in his spare time with the aid of his spider-bots, other, lesser, superheroes should keep their minds on the job.

Secretly, he just doesn't like the idea of other superheroes being happy.
