Flashback to the Roaring Twenties, as Jack is, once again, haunted by the ghosts of his past.

(They should have got Stuart Owens to deal with it. He ain't afraid of no ghosts.)

The nerve of Angelo, not just stealing Jack's fake visa, but also his completely stolen identity!

Okay the "Speaking loudly and slowly to foreigners" thing is dumb enough at the best of times, but when you're ''repeating something that someone else has already told them in their own language'' you really are making an idiot of yourself.

Fun to have a gay character get fed up of Jack's constant innuendo. Jack seems to take what he said on board, at least temporarily, which is perhaps why he didn't reply to "How did you know?" with a more honest "Well, it's more that I flirt with everyone, and see who reciprocates."

Back in the present, Jack is smart enough not to even try arguing with Gwen; they've got her family, she'll do anything to get them back, end of story. He only starts on her once his attempt to negotiate with the Triangle (I assume its them) fails. And I'm not surprised: "If you don't force Gwen to take me to you, then I'll come to you on my own". Gwen thinks the Triangle want Jack dead, but they clearly don't or he would be.

"You're Welsh. You wouldn't notice if the vowels were missing." LOL

"I've got this friend, he's called the Doctor." In your face, people who said this was a reboot separated from the Whoniverse! And the brainworm is part of the Trickster's Brigade!

And Jack gets a ressurection scene. In fact, he gets lots of them. First he gets shot, then when he recovers from that Angelo thinks he's a demon and stabs him, and then the people of Little Italy think he's a miracle and string him up so they can collect his blood! That was a pretty harrowing scene.

The scene of Gwen and Jack bonding by threatening each other was beautiful.

Go, Rex and Esther! And Sergeant Andy! And another LOL moment, Rex complains about "Torchwood acting like amateur clowns", only for Gwen to hug him while he's training a rifle at the bad guys.

And the Triangle ... is Angelo? So who were the guys who "bought" Jack and made a triangle with their arms? Or did Angelo join them in order to find Jack?

Never get involved with Jack if your name ends in an "o", clearly. It just ends in tears.

And next time sees the return of Oswald and Kitty after two weeks without them. Ah, well...

I'm thinking that may be where the Miracle came from actually. Or perhaps that's just what they want us to think and it's a giant red herring....

I am extremely glad to be proved wrong about the re-boot. RTD's been muttering about his Excalibur concept for years anyway, CoE doesn't look much like it fits in the Whoniverse, and I was worried that they might have to peel it off the Whoniverse for pragmatic reasons to do with it being essentially a Starz production rather than a BBC co-production. (I'd rather it wasn't the Trickster, but that's because I've always found the Trickster to be a ridiculous villain anyway and would rather the Trickster was just retconned out of the entire Whoniverse.).)

Also, this episode felt much more like Torchwood as was, and not just because if the copious quantity of gratuitous sex. :-)
