I feel I should start writing a series of drabbles in which the new Minister of Chance poses as, is mistaken for, or quotes Pitt the Younger, Lord Lucan, Sir James Chettam, and many characters from detective stories. But I can't be bothered.

That's rather my reaction as well. I know it isn't their fault, and they'd rather have had Stephen Fry back if they could, but if he isn't going to be returning I don't feel the least bit interested.
