For the past eight issues of Paul Cornell's Lex Luthor in Action Comics, Lexy has been acompanied both by his robot-Lois, and by an associate named Spalding. Spalding is a rather tall man in a blue suit, with slightly spiked light brown hair and thin rectangular glasses.

And it wasn't until the Joker claimed to have killed him because "He reminded me so much of that actor, I wanted to see if he'd turn into someone else!" that I twigged...
