Jun. 30th, 2010 10:22 pmI don't understand sports. Any sports. So when Mum asked me to find out how Andy Murray did today, I poked uncertainly at the official Wimbledon website for a while before sadly reporting he'd lost - he scored 6766, and his opponent scored 7622. (I was surprised at how big those numbers were, but I don't know enough to question them. And, after all, it does go up in fifteens.)
Apparently, the score should actually be read 6,7,6,6 to 7,6,2,2, which means Andy won three games to one.

Date: 2010-07-01 09:26 am (UTC)Each score represents a group of games - I think it's usually the first to win six games who wins the set, unless they're less than two games ahead of their opponent. After that it gets complicated :-)
And that's about as much as I know (or care) about it :-) Cricket is clearly invented and played by Martians.
