Smallville finale

That... wasn't what I expected. The build-up was excellent, with the Legion and League both being involved giving it a real "Crisis Crossover" feel. And Doomsday looked exactly like he does in the comics only scarier.
(A quick side note: in the comics, Doomsday was a random Superman-killing plot device that essentially came from nowhere, and much later was given an origin as a genetically-engineered warrior who just happened to have been created on Krypton. Having him exist specifically to kill Clark is much more elegant, and I greatly approve.)
The actual fight, though... Well, I practically blinked and missed it. I certainly missed the resolution, and only learnt what happened when Chloe and Clark discussed it at the end.
Meanwhile, Davis kills Jimmy. That was a shock twice over. First, I believed Clark's theory that Davis wasn't a psycho, it was just Doomsday. Second, I assumed Jimmy couldn't be killed because he's a major Superman cast member.
But it turns out he probably isn't that Jimmy Olsen after all; at the funeral it turns out that his name is Henry James Olsen, and he has a freckled, bow-tie-wearing kid brother, who Chloe gives his camera to. Presumably this is James Bartholomew Olsen. Well, it gets the job done, and it did bug me a little that Clark and Jimmy were the same age.
Three cliffhangers: Lois in the 31st century, Clark giving up his human identity (what, again?) and the Kandorians chanting ... was it Zod? The last one is obviously next year's story arc, and the middle is presumably going to be the plot of the first couple of episodes, but the first one has the potential to be resolved in passing (they just send her back), and I hope it isn't. I want an episode set in the 31st century, especially if they get Geoff Johns again.
Not what I expected, but mostly good.
