Choose 5 OTP’s without looking at the questions behind the cut first, then tag friends to do the same.

I'm always useless at the shippy stuff, but here goes:

1. Moist von Lipwig/Miss Adora Belle Dearheart (Discworld)
2. Clara Oswald/Danny Pink (Doctor Who)
3. John Watson/Mary Morstan (Sherlock)
4. Floyd Pepper/Janice (Muppets)
5. Clark Kent/Lois Lane (DC Comics)

1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 5 [Lois and Clark]?

Hmm. I think the first time I actually thought about it beyond "it's Superman and Lois Lane. Duh!" was the Lois and Clark TV series, even though when I put them in the meme, I was thinking specifically of the comics version.

2. Have you ever read fanfiction about 2 [Clara and Danny]?

Oddly enough, I don't think I have.

3. Has a picture of 4 [Floyd and Janice] ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr ID?

Not specifically them, no...

4. If 3 [John and Mary] were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

"Well, that's one way to add some extra drama. An extremely cheap way, but one way."

5. Why is 1 [Moist and Miss Dearheart] so important?

Because without Spike to not be fooled by him for a second, Moist would just be a very clever conman. Imagine Going Postal without her; most of the same things might happen, but Moist comes across as a lot more of a git, because there's nothing puncturing his self-belief or reminding him that not everyone else is an idiot (beyond the occasional visit to the Patrician). Contrariwise, without Moist ... well, there's not much space in the books for a golems/clacks monomaniac with no sense of humour.

6. Is 4 [Floyd and Janice] a funny ship or a serious ship?

It's the Muppets, what do you think?

7. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

John and Mary, then Moist and Spike. Assuming "chemistry" means "liable to blow up".

8. Of all the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?

Until, oh about two years ago, I'd have said Clark and Lois. Then the Powers That Be, in their infinite wisdom, decided it Never Flippin' Happened.

9. How many times have you read/watched 2 [Clara and Danny]’s fandom?

Sometimes whole hours will pass when I'm not following Doctor Who in one medium or another.

10. Which ship lasted the longest?

Depends on your definition both of "ship" and of "Lois and Clark". (Dons anorak.)

I was thinking of the post-Crisis version, who went on their first date in 1990, after four years of will-they-or-won't-they, and more or less remained a couple until they stopped existing in 2012.

For a more broad definition, Clark and Lois entered the will-they-won't-they phase in 1938, which would put them well in the lead, but that version (Earth-2) only became an Official Couple in 1978 (and remained so until they stopped existing in 1986).

If we take the 1978 or 1990 dates, they're beaten by Floyd and Janice (1976). Except ... if we're counting pre-Crisis versions, the Earth-1 Lois and Clark, while still largely in the will-they-or-won't-they phase, veered suddenly if temporarily towards they-have in the same year (the famed boeuf bourguignon date). Which would make it a tie, except Floyd and Janice are still together and Lois and Clark aren't.

11. How many times, if ever, has 5 [Lois and Clark] broken up?

Three, I think, in different realities, even if having your entire relationship erased from history doesn't count.

12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 1 [Moist and Miss Dearheart] or 3 [John and Mary]?

Oh, I wouldn't want to bet on that one at all.

13. Did 4 [Floyd and Janice] ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?

I can't imagine why, and if so they did a really bad job of it.

14. Is 5 [Lois and Clark] still together?

Don't even get me started. [Looks at answers to 8, 10 and 11] Oh, too late.

15.

Error. Question not found.

16. If all five ships were put into a couples' Hunger Games, which couple would win?

We're basically talking a "one couple leaves" deathmatch here, right?

Tricky. One pairing contains a guy with actual superpowers, but who would very much refuse to play and mostly try to stop the others from hurting each other. I think most of the others would have similar reservations, although I'd keep an eye on Mary. They'd probably end up all working together to take down the villain responsible for putting them in that position.

17. Has anyone ever tried to sabotage 5 [Lois and Clark]’s ship?

I swear I didn't peek at the questions and then set the whole quiz up as an excuse to rant about the New 52, but yes, DC Comics have.

18. Which ship(s) would you defend to the death and beyond?

To the death? Um, I'll argue very strongly for them, but if pointy objects are being pointed my way, fictional love affairs can take a running jump.

19. Have you ever spent hours a day going through 3 [John and Mary]’s tumblr page?

It's not really the sort of thing I'd do in any event, but given they've been one of my favourite pairings for less than a week...

20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the five ships to break up forever, which ship would you sink?

Clark and Lois is already at the bottom of the ocean, so the actions of evil witches are unlikely to make things worse.
