The Dream Lord's Teasers

Way back in the wibbly-wobbly mists of timey-wimey, Doctor Who: The Brillian Book 2011 was published. And one of its amusing features was a page where the Dream Lord gave us a list of teasers that might show up in the then-upcoming series ... or might not. With the 2011 season well and truly over, I decided to sit down and find out which bits were true.
The Doctor will be on trial – twice!
Nope.
Who controls the light sculptors?
Check, but in Sarah Jane! (They're the hologram aliens in "The Man Who Never Was", and are controlled by Harrison.) Sneaky.
You won’t believe what’s buried under Wembley Stadium.
Nope.
Scared of the Eye in Space? You should be.
Nope.
Take up thy sins and walk – slowly.
Don't think so.
There won’t be a pub quiz on Tuesday because there won’t be a pub.
This could easily have been in "Closing Time", but if it was I missed it.
Beau Geste is cool.
Bow Street runners are cool.
Bromley-by-Bow is cool.
All plays on the bow tie gag. All nope.
4 August 1982 – Happy Birthday, Ma’am.
Nope, although it would have been interesting.
Some lies are too much for the psychic paper.
Check, "universally recognised as a responsible adult" in "A Christmas Carol".
“I won’t take calls from THAT Prime Minister.”
Nope.
“Marc, where are you?”
Nope.
The only water in the forest is the river.
Oh, big check.
What awaits the TARDIS at the zero point?
This could be from "The Doctor's Wife" - "Zero Point" was used to refer to the crossover point between two universes in "Warrior's Gate" - but I don't recall it. Since a lot of the early draft of "The Doctor's Wife" got cut for various reasons, maybe it was in there at the time...
“72 years on and Rory’s still terrified of Granny Grainger?”
I was really looking forward to seeing this, but nope.
“I was lost in France.”
Nope. (Although Alexander Armstrong could easily have said it at the end of "The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe"...)
“How could a fellow Gallifreyan stoop so low?”
Nope
Horror of Bangkok.
Nope, Parody of "Horror of Fang Rock".
“Give it up, Sueet Korn.”
Nope, thankfully there hasn't been a character by that name.
Argonite? Here?
Nope.
An ordinary block of flats.
Check, "Night Terrors".
“If I saw them walking down the high street what would I think?” I don’t think you’d think anything at all, Amy.”
Don't remember this.
Find the lady – before she finds you!
Nope.
“Margaret! Come back!”
I suspected this could be the return of Margaret Blaine, but nope.
The Doctor defeats the Sahara Desert.
Nope, although it would have been awesome
Susannah’s still alive.
Nope. Well, she may well be, but she never appeared in the show.
Mill Green on fire.
Nope.
The Doctor will get married – Twice!
Big check! Not "The Doctor's Wife", which is metaphorical, but to Marilyn Monroe in "A Christmas Carol" and to River Song in, well...
What are the dangers of Port Olveron?
We may never know.
502, but never 503.
Check ... except it should read 5:02, but never 5:03. "The Wedding of River Song".
Beware of the kites.
Nope.
“A pillar of salt, yes – but not because she looked back. Looking back is good!”
Nope.
They’ll have to get a new name for Thanksgiving.
Nope.
Pay attention – It’s not really her.
Check! This presumably refers to "Amy" for the first half of the season.
Treading through the sand – on the one night they come back.
Nope.
The Shuddering Brethren, they’ll stick in your mind.
Nope.
“I’m my own Doctor.”
Nope, don't remember that.
Octavian wasn’t lying.
Check. Although he was mistaken...
Mysterious semblance at the the strand of nightmares.
Nope.
The bones of the TARDIS.
Check. The TARDIS graveyard in "The Doctor's Wife".
So that's nine checks out of 41. I may have missed some.
