Okay, first, full marks for the creation of Stuart Owens. It's very easy to create an Evil Corporation without thinking "So is the Chief Accountant evil? How about the guy in charge of stationery supplies?" Yes, the bottom rungs of the ladder can be assumed to contain Hapless Pawns, and the top rungs are obviously the people who make it evil, but what about the middle rungs? Stuart Owens is on one of those middle rungs and he's been trying to find out what's going on as well.

Of course, Jack doesn't know this, so he creates an elaborate and hilarious fake kidnapping to get Stuart to talk. And it turns out PhiCorp isn't responsible for the Miracle, it's just being influenced by the people who are, who are somehow able to control The Entire System. (Jack doesn't confront him about the PhiCorp camps, though...)

Speaking of said camps; in Wales, Gwen confronts a doctor about the banality of evil, and she and Rhys manage to rescue her dad, and expose the truth.

And in California, Colin Maloney goes completely off the deep-end, and Rex engineers an escape I thought was far too easy, right up to the point it goes horrible wrong. And then he tells Maloney he's going to expose everything, while chained to a post. Granted, he doesn't know the man's psychotic, but even so...

Actually, his later argument, the "you're caught in the middle of this" one might have worked if it wasn't Maloney; it's interesting to parallel it with Owens, who pretty much agrees with Jack, and the Welsh doctor, who's clearly shaken by what Gwen says. But Maloney is, as mentioned, psychotic. And Rex completely misses that he's in denial about Vera's death, and refers to looking for "someone to blame" rather than "the one responsible", and flippin' shows him where the evidence is. He's darned lucky that Esther shows up, and that Maloney is too out-of-it to think of destroying the tape first.

I kinda saw "Maloney gets shot by the guard who was involved in covering up Vera's death" coming. I did not see that cliffhanger, though.
