stay on Ceti Alpha V and marry Khan!"

Ian's jaw dropped.

"Now hang on a minute..." said Maria McGivers.

"Doctor," said Jack. "I want to stay on Deep Space Nine and marry Dax!"

The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "You and Jadzia Dax?"

"Sure," Jack grinned, "If Jadzia wants to join in that's fine. But actually I just meant Dax."

"Doctor," said Benny, "I want to stay on the Enterprise and marry Wesl ... Wait, what?"

"I think the author wanted to recreate the 'Outraged Benny breaks the fourth wall and storms off' scene in the original," said the Doctor.

Benny glared around her. "Then far be it for me not to oblige. If anyone else needs me for a story, I'll be in the Round." And with that, she flounced out.

(Okay, we still need another Seventh companion. Volunteers? Ah, Mel again.)

The Doctor shrugged. "The scary part is, that makes more sense than leaving with Sabalom Glitz..."
