Well, luckily I knew about the setting and characters from the DWM article, because Disney XD have decided either a) It's not worth taking the trouble to broadcast the episodes in the right order, or 2) It's not worth buying the pilot at all.

One you've got past the unintentional in media res, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't really anything special either, IMO. It's tempting to call it "An Australian near-future SJA, if Sarah was a male scientist and Rani's mum was with Torchwood". So that's what I'll do.

I got used to the new K9 design surprisingly quickly (although, again, it's a shame we missed the "regeneration scene"), and I'll definitely watch it again tomorrow.

Didn't they already air the pilot 'round the new year? People on my flist saw it somewhere.

Checking Wikipedia, it was apparently broadcast in October. Whoops.

Radio Times didn't seem to have noticed either, since they were bemoaning the lack of preview tapes to judge how convincing the CGI was.

Sorry, thought of this straight after hitting "post":

I think it's more or less confirmed that the writers are treating Oliver as Bruce, especially with him having the Kryptonite Ring.
