Red Dwarf

Well, that was ... interesting.

It wasn't bad; Rimmer got some great lines, there were some fun ideas, and I love Arnie's newfound interest in classic cars (not a million miles away from a certain Chris "And this ... is my other Bently" Barrie), but old Dwarf used to feel like an amazing show even when it was, in fact, cr*p, and this just didn't have the zing it used to.

Speaking of when the old series was cr*p, I missed the start, so I don't know if there was any explanation for the Big Cosmic Reset Button, or if they just assumed we'd be so happy things were back to normal (save for Holly) that we wouldn't ask questions. Because if it's the latter, they were right 8-).

My prediction, incidentally, is that the giant squid is, in fact, the Suicide Squid from "Back To Reality", and all subsequent events are a hallucination.

There was no prior explanation.

My prediction is that Dr.-terrible-Russian-accent is the squid.

I gave it a meh.

Methinks it was average. Not spectacularly funny, but miles better than The Series We Shall Not Name. It didn't appear to be aimed at getting new viewers to come in and watch the archive, more an attempt to give existing fans something new. I suspect they're saving the A-material for the latter part(s).
