The Beast Below

Wow. Just, wow.

That was brilliant. I don't have words for how brilliant I thought that was.

(Although the vomit scene was gross).

Aw. I'm so glad someone else thought so. I'm dreading if other people hate that (people I like), bceause the ending caught me unawares and made me cry, dammit. And watching the start? I've loved Ten and Nine, but it felt like having the Doctor back in some way I can't explain.

So far, all the reaction I've seen is positive.

The ending didn't make me cry, obviously, because I'm a bloke. However, I think my eye infection may be flaring up again, or maybe there's another trapped eyelash...

I also! The episode was feeling good if a bit close to fluffy at the start, but then the ending happened and it suddenly got heavy.

Perfect Doctor Who!

I only had two concerns.

1) No double digit death count. I'm sorry it's not proper Dr Who unless the bodies are dropping like flies.

2) I'm worried we're going back to the EcclesDoc companion (poor widdle Wose) saves the day formula again.

Actually, while Moffet always brings the scares, he does tend to shy away from death, doesn't he?

I mean, in past seasons, he gave us the two "Everyone Lives!" stories, one where one woman died of old age, and one with "the nicest serial killers in the universe", whose victims also died of old age.

And as far as I recall, no-one died in "The Eleventh Hour", either.

But my own view is that every character who dies is a failure on the Doctor's part. And he shouldn't fail that often, because he's the Doctor.
