Tempting though it was to ask what state your author avatar was in half an hour after the end of 'Storytime: Jack and the Beanstalk', I'll instead go for:

The Doctor paced the cell. Fast talking had deferred his execution, but not stopped it altogether. At least, he tried to pace the cell, but although the brig was a bit larger than on the Enterprise he was familiar with, the cells were a lot smaller.

He'd convinced this alternate Kirk that he had knowledge that could be useful. Kirk seemed suspicious and said he had ways of corroborating this. The Doctor wasn't sure what that meant, but it didn't sound good. On the other hand, how much worse could things get? At least he hadn't been put in this Agony Booth thing.

The doors swished open and Kirk returned to the brig. Behind him was a figure in a 20th century suit. His face, with its stern expression and greying moustache, was one the Doctor recognised, although he wasn't sure where from.

"I keep telling you, Kirk," he was saying, "The space-time telegraph is for you to alert me to things that might be to my benefit, not for me to help with your problems. You owe me for this."

The captain chastised, he directed his attention to the prisoner. "According to Captain Kirk, you claim to be a renegade Time Lord known as the Doctor. There is no such renegade. Believe me, I am quite certain of that."

"Who are you?" the Doctor demanded. His interrogator gave a thin smile.

"I am known as the Leader. Universally."

Of course, the Doctor thought, Things can always get worse.

(The Leader resembles Jack Kine, I take it? It took me a couple of goes to place him).
