The Wonder Twins?
Seriously, the Wonder Twins?
What. The. Heck?
(For anyone who doesn't know, the Wonder Twins were the kid-identification characters in later episodes of 1970s JLA cartoon The Super-Friends. They were introduced to the DC Universe in a 1995 comic called Extreme Justice, which was exactly what you'd expect a 1995 comic called Extreme Justice to be like; the stories made no sense and the art was by someone who probably could draw, but was trying to look like Rob Liefeld because that's what The Kids wanted.)
Actually, that wasn't so bad. Using them as the wannabe heroes who keep screwing up was a nice idea. And I did laugh when I saw Gleek The Space Monkey as a design on their mobiles.
The actual story about Lois exposing the corrupt politician seemed a little rushed. I don't think he's even been mentioned before, which is odd in a series that loves its arc plots. The resolution was interesting, particularly the way that Chloe's lecture to the Twins on the responsibility of being hero-support is rapidly followed by the revelation she's had Clark bugged for "his own good".
Disapointed that they shyed away from Lois learning Clark's identity. They have to do it sooner or later; once the Blur goes public as Superman, the glasses (yay! The glasses! Finally!) aren't going to fool her this time.
(Or maybe they are. That was one of my problems with Post-Crisis Superman: Clark only started wearing glasses after going public as Superman, and nobody in Smallville seemed to notice that Superman looked like Clark did when he left town. Not even Pete Ross.)
Talking of shying away from Lois learning Clark's identity, I wonder if the ending where kissing Clark triggers Lois's suppressed memories was intended as a reversal of the amnesia causing kiss at the end of Superman II? A nice touch, if so.
But, really, the Wonder Twins???
