Mostly, I was just grateful it didn't end with: "A.I. is evil! Destroy all the Robots!"
I also thought Pearl Mackie was excellent again.
And this story was a lot better than "Forest of the Night" (It would have been hard to make it any worse).
But, yeah... The more I think about it, the more I can imagine ways to make the story less of a mess:
1) Instead of having the Doctor erase the emojibots' memories, just delete the command lines that orders them to be responsible for the humans (break the chains of their slavery) and that they must disallow any sadness.
2) Cut out the scene with the blue jelly, and use those minutes to give more time to the ending, so it's not so rushed.
3) Pick a theme and stick to it: is it the nature of grief? The emergence of sentience? Anti-Colonialism? Etc.
